It’s no problem :D! Your blog is super cute ~ ^^
Shiivas guide to budget/lazy cosplaying~
It may not come across that way to some, but i am a lazy cosplayer and I’m always on a budget. As a student and someone living out of home, I think its still important to enjoy your hobbies and the things you love.
So I thought I’d make a short guide of some things I do - maybe it will help other cosplayers? I don’t know, but here’s some tips and tricks anyway.
1. Buying or sewing
If you’re like me and still learning to sew or have minimal sewing skills (This year I will make a full costume ^^), you might consider buying your costume - but where are the best places? I will share some good sites, I have previously bought from and was happy with!
www.ezcosplay.com - Cheap, very fast, reliable, Quality is good
www.moemall.com - The quality of their costumes are amazing, and they’re not too expensive either.
http://au.hellocosplay.com/ - I was really suprised with Hello cosplay, you can request them to try make it fast/by a certain time date with no extra cost - They are reasonably priced.
http://www.cosplayfu.com.au/ - A bit more expensive, but they have a lot of reviews, photos and they’re very quick with receiving orders.
Buy parts and do it yourself!-
this is actually my favourite method of cosplaying - buying existing pieces and modifying them. For android 18 I bought a skirt, 2 shirts, a jacket off ebay for total of around $30 (mostly from china) The quality was all great. I bought shoes and painted them for $15 (Same with a belt) And the patch was commissioned~ I heavily modified the shirts/skirt by sewing, cutting etc. But im very happy with it! (The same for my Elizabeth corset - I bought and modified that!)
Budget with wigs! ~
Wigs are one of my favourite parts of cosplaying! (I also love it if I dont need a wig ) I have heard everyone praise Arda wigs for quality and I’m sure they’re amazing, I just don’t have $60 to spare! I swear by eBay and I always will - I will share with you some of my favourite and trusted wig sellers-
honest-trust - http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/honest-trust?_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2754
Jewelmall2012 - http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/jewelmall2012?_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754
Reelva - http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/reelva?_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754
Jewelmall2012 is m favourite, all wigs i have got have been cheap, high quality and quick shipping. I’ve also got wigs from EZcosplay and Moemall (They’re both great too) Chances are your wig will need styling - I style with a regular comb, scissors, hairspray and sometimes high quality glue is necessary.
Some shoes are important, others not so much, with shoes I like to buy off ebay) or from a local cheap store ($15-$20 shoes) And paint them with acrylics and spray them with sealer. I Have done this multiple times now and I love it. You will need at least 3 coats for a set colour.
Videls shoes were done this way! ^^
My secret way of ordering how I do my cosplays next!~ With so many cosplays to do next, how do i choose, It might sound strange but I choose by contact lense colour (generally). When you buy a pair of lenses they expire after a year or so right? Well if I have blue lenses for Elizabeth, why not cosplay young Elizabeth too whilst I have them? or burial at sea version as well. This saves me buying new lenses every time I cosplay a blue eyed character! (I can also use them for Videl, android 18 and Saeko!) I generally buy my lenses from Pinkyparadise or youknowit.com
The last of the stuff ~ Tricks for makeup/accessories
My makeup is the cheap stuff - yeh I’ve never own napoleon perdis, or some other fancy stuff, my foundation is usually $10 or even less. To me it works just the same! I use primer, liquid foundation then powdered and It looks great. Eyeshadow palettes are also my best friend- I buy most makeup from eBay too, its just a matter of looking! So i will share some of my favourite things-
I hope this helps someone - please message for anymore questions ^^
